Design Concept

The design is inspired by the project’s location—a remote mountain range surrounded by pine forests. Because the site is difficult to access, our main challenge was to create something “fast, simple, and beautiful.”

Given the limited construction technology in the area, we chose to use natural materials found directly within the pine forest. We kept the materials in their rawest form to blend perfectly with the environment. This resulted in a building that is simple, yet elegant and sophisticated.

For the doors and windows, we used a modular design. They were pre-manufactured in Thailand and then shipped for final assembly on-site in Laos.
